We're building a community space for digital creators in Portland.

Rose City Digital Commons will be a non-profit creative space for people who make things with computers. We hope to welcome game developers, software engineers, digital artists, designers, musicians, and anyone working at the intersection of technology and creativity.

Think a makerspace, but for digital makers. Everything you can do alone in your house, but would be better with other people around. A safe space to create alongside fellow creators, share knowledge, access tools you couldn't justify owning, and be part of a community that inspires you to finish what you start.

What we're imagining

  • Lounge with comfy couches, coffee, and vibes
  • Console development kits for indie game creators
  • Audio, video, and streaming production
  • Hardware bench for Arduino, firmware, and electronics projects
  • Member-run classes, workshops, and skill shares
  • Free event space for non-profit meetups and community gatherings
  • Workstations, fast internet, build servers, project hosting
  • 24/7 member access

Who this is for

  • Indie game developers and hobbyists
  • Software engineers who want to work around other people
  • Digital artists, illustrators, and designers
  • Musicians, podcasters, and streamers
  • Creative technologists and creative coders
  • Community organizers and meetups
  • Anyone making digital things who's tired of working alone
